Dr. My Hoa Kaas

Dr. My Hoa Kaas has been in private practice in Northern Virginia since 2000. She completed three years of advanced reconstructive foot and ankle surgical training as well as a research fellowship in Seattle, Washington. Then she completed an orthopedic traumatology fellowship in Naples, Italy. She is Board Certified in both Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery and Foot Surgery. Dr. Kaas was selected to serve as a medical examiner for the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ABFAS).  She is a Diplomate member of ABFAS and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Kaas served with the Cripple Children’s Project in the Yucatan Peninsula. She also completed the prestigious Microsurgery and Operative Endoscopy Training Institute in San Francisco. She continues to be active in the teaching and surgical training of podiatric residents. In 2010, she was recognized by the International Association of Orthopedic Surgeons as a “Top Foot and Ankle Surgeon”. In addition she was awarded "Leading Physician of the World" in 2010 by the International Organization of Orthopedic Surgeons and "America's Top Podiatrist" in 2012 by Consumer Research Council of America.

 

 

Dr. Jay D. Ryan

Dr. Jay Ryan completed his residency in Atlanta, GA at Emory Hospital and DeKalb Medical Center. While there, he was extensively trained in advanced reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. He received his medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, graduating with highest honors. Dr. Ryan is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery (ABFAS) in both Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery and Foot Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons in Foot Surgery, as well as Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery. He is also a Diplomate of the ABFAS in both Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery and Foot Surgery. Dr. Ryan has completed multiple advanced training courses for arthroscopic ankle surgery. He has worked closely with professional and amateur athletes and is able to offer unique insight for this population. He is a contributing author of the renowned ‘McGlamry's Comprehensive Textbook of Foot and Ankle Surgery’, the last nine editions of 'Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery Annual Update', as well as many professional journals. Dr. Ryan is a faculty member of The Podiatry Institute and lectures both nationally and internationally on Foot and Ankle surgical techniques. He also participates in the training of surgical residents at Inova Fairfax Hospital, serving as a member of the residency training committee. Additionally, Dr. Ryan regularly participates in Medical Missions and works closely with various aid organizations which contribute to this cause.

 

 

Dr. James H. Chung

Dr. James Chung completed his undergraduate education at Virginia Tech where he earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Nutrition, Foods, & exercise with a minor in Medicine & Society. He was a recipient of the Scholar in Health Studies Honors Diploma and graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors. After Virginia Tech, Dr. Chung earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine Degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City where he graduated in the top 10 of his class with Cum Laude honors while receiving numerous scholarships and awards. Dr. Chung went on to complete his residency at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus in Northern Virginia. During training, he earned Resident of the Year honors and served as Chief Resident. His training focused on complex surgical reconstruction of the foot & ankle including total ankle replacement surgery, minimally invasive surgical techniques, arthroscopic surgery, and Charcot foot reconstruction. He is active in research and is an author of a number of publications and posters in peer-reviewed journals and national conferences. As an attending physician, he continues to play an active role in the training and education of residents at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus. Dr. Chung is from Oakton, Virginia. In his free time, he enjoys snowboarding, Washington DC sports, and spending time with family, friends, and his dog, Rufus.
